JV Boys Hockey Team Roars to Life in Illinois West Playoffs

#1 seed Lincoln-Way team put on a commanding display in Game 1 of the Illinois West Playoffs, cruising to a 10-0 victory over the #8 Lyons team. With the win, LW takes a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series and sets the tone for the rest of the series.

The LW offense exploded out of the gates, scoring a stunning 7 goals in the first period alone. Three of those goals came within the first 4 minutes of the game, showcasing the team's exceptional speed and skill. The onslaught continued into the second period, with LW adding more goals to their tally. A final goal in the third period sealed the deal, as the home team dominated from start to finish.

In net for LW, Jacob Bandzi turned in a solid performance, pitching a shutout against a frustrated Lyons team. Bandzi's impressive display in goal was the perfect complement to the LW offense, which was led by Grant Briscoe's impressive hat trick. Briscoe's three goals helped LW build a commanding lead and ultimately secure the shutout victory.
