JV1 Dominates Nequa Valley in 8-1 Victory

Romeoville, IL – JV1 delivered an impressive performance against Nequa Valley this evening, securing a dominant 8-1 win. The team showcased their offensive prowess, particularly in the first and third periods and the game was highlighted by a hat trick from Jimmy Maurer.

The scoring kicked off early, with Grant Briscoe finding the net first, assisted by Connor Kolosh and Dillon Stewart. Owen Britt followed up with a goal, thanks to assists from Joey Smuskiewicz and Stewart. Jimmy Maurer then added to the tally, netting another goal with Briscoe assisting. Carter Prochaska capped off a strong first period with a goal assisted by Smuskiewicz, leaving LW ahead 4-0.

Nequa Valley managed to get on the board in the second period, but LW quickly responded, exploding for four more goals in the final frame. Dillon Stewart scored the first goal of the third period unassisted, igniting a scoring spree. Joey Smuskiewicz then found the back of the net, with assists from Anthony Skopick and Prochaska.

Maurer struck again, scoring his second goal with assists from Briscoe and Hunter Lovett. He completed his hat trick shortly after, with his final goal assisted by Kolosh, solidifying the score at 8-1.

In net, Jacob Bandzi had a stellar performance, stopping 19 of the 20 shots he faced, ensuring a comfortable win for LW1. The team’s offensive depth and solid defense highlight their potential as they continue their season.
